So I changed my hair colour again and people are asking me how come I still have hair after all the bleaching madness
I thought I would walk you through my hair treatment =)
First of all, I alternate between conditioners and hair masks. I try to have very different stuff so I know each one of them is bringing something different to my treatment.
I cycle between Hydration, Nutrition and Reconstruction.
Hydrating products contain: seaweed, panthenol, aloe vera, vitamins, bepanthol, chocolate, honey (amongst others);
Nutritious products contain: milk, wheat, silk, oatmeal, coconut oil, grape seed, karité butter, cupuaçu (amongst others);
Re constructive products contain: keratin, cysteine, proline, collagen (amongst others).
Now, to the actual list of products I’ve been using =)
1 - Tigi Catwalk - Oatmeal and honey conditioner (comfort food for damaged hair)
This product is actually really good, I bought it at TK Max for £12.99. The down side is the smell. At first it’s nice, but then it becomes a bit nauseating. I tend to use it when I’m staying home. It has honey (hydration) and oatmeal (nutrition).
2 - Osmo - Intensive Deep Repair Mask (formulated for overstressed, heat traumatised and chemically abused hair)
This one I bought on Amazon for £4.50. It has a formula based on Jojoba, source of vitamins (hydrating product). It has a really nice smell <3
3 - NuNaat - Brazilian Keratin (Intensive hair mask)
This one I also bought on Amazon for £7.79. It has keratin, a re constructive product. Keratin is really important for bleached hair.
1 - Argan oil (hair treatment with Moroccan oil)
I bought this one for £1 at the pharmacy! Even though it was that cheap, it is an amazing product that I wouldn’t live without. I use this one after using the straightening iron and the curling iron. It helps a lot with little flyaways and gives a bit of shine where the hair is opaque. Sometimes I apply a big amount of it before going to bed and wash the hair the next morning.
2 - Shea Moisture - Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie (anti-frizz, moisture and shine)
I bought this one on Amazon for £16.30. Maybe you don’t know that, but my natural hair is curly. And not the nice kind, a wild frizzy curl without volume (yep, that exists). I’ve been trying to not stress out my hair that much with heat, specially cause it’s summer and there is no point, I’m gonna sweat tons. This is a leave-in with coconut (nutrition), hibiscus (no idea), silk protein (nutrition) and neem oil (nutrition). It smells freaking amazing! I apply just a little bit to the hair, comb it through and plat the hair so my curls don’t turn out crazy and frizzy. I never use this if I’m going to use the straightening or curling iron.
It’s not easy or cheap to keep your hair healthy, but it sure is worth it =) I hope this post helps the hair colouring addicts out there!
